TYJT management continues to encourage the current
practice of close communications between project
managers, lead and staff engineers in coordinating staff
assignments and prosecution of work. The development
of the staff listings is not intended to depart from current
practices but to enhance it.
Responsible practice/group personnel shall schedule
meetings with their respective staff to disseminate inform-
mation and communicate management intent for staff
organization.

Two, to actively pursue opportunities in the ever-growing
engineering Infrastructure market, we have assigned
Gregory Parker, TYJT’s Vice President as the
Infrastructure Assistant Practice Leader.
In this role, Greg will assist Alan Schneider, the
Infrastructure Practice Leader in the management of the
(a) Practice projects, core resources, and business
development, (b) firm’s functional resources i.e. civil,
structural, mechanical and electrical professionals who
are not core members of any of the other firm practices,
and (c) newly established Field Support Group headed
by Andre Hindo.
The Field Support Group will be tasked with coordination
and delivery of TYJT’s field services including but not
limited to general services during construction, resident
engineering and inspection, survey, and sewer inspection
and related services.
Three, in an effort to provide timely response to issues arising in the process of delivery of projects and to enhance
our performance, we have decided to conduct Monthly
Project Delivery Review Meetings. The purpose of these
meetings will be to review active projects, identify issues
and recommend solutions.
The Monthly Project Delivery Review Meetings shall be
held once a month starting in June, 2005. Monthly Project
Delivery Review Meetings shall be chaired by George
Karmo and attended by the following individuals:

On as-needed basis, Practices shall invite specific project
managers to discuss project details, status of work and
issues.
The Practice Leaders and Office Coordinators will be
required to have up-to-date information and be
responsible to report on their projects. The Standard
Meeting Agenda shall include the following:
1. Status Of Work;
2. Budget Analysis;
3. Schedule Review;
4. Staffing Needs Review;
5. Status Of Invoicing/ Accounts Receivable;
6. Issues and Recommended Solutions (this will
include current and potential issues related to
product/technical, client, delays, amendments,
staff, work suspension, etc.);
7. Other e.g. staff achievements, clients satisfaction,
publications, etc.;
8. Action Items List (review and monthly update of
items requiring action identifying dates and
responsible parties for actions).
On the business side, I would like to report on two recent
projects:
One, DWSD selected the Team of Jenkins/TYJT for
DWS-837A, Standby Generators Design Build Project.
The Team was authorized to start work immediately.
TYJT will be the “Designer of Record” for this project;
Two, proposals for CS-1431, Design and Construction
Management Services for Upper Rouge CSO Tunnel
Facilities were submitted to DWSD on June 8, 2005 by
the teams of Parson Brinkerhoff and Jacobs Civil. TYJT
is a subconsultant member on both teams. Design work
is scheduled to start by August 1, 2005. This is a large
project with an estimated construction cost of $600 million
and a design/construction duration of 9 years.
