Wayne County Airports Underground Storage Tanks (USTs) Project

Tucker, Young, Jackson, Tull, Inc. (TYJT) was a subconsultant to Camp Dresser & McKee (CDM) on the Wayne County Airports UST project. TYJT’s role on the project was to provide detailed design and construction contract documents. The project was to ensure the Wayne County Department of Airports (WCDOA) compliance with the Federal Regulations stipulating UST for corrosion protection, leak detection, overfill and spill protection. This work involved over 30 regulated and unregulated USTs located at the Willow Run and Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airports.

The project involved the removal of existing USTs and related contaminated soil management at the Detroit Metropolitan and Willow Run Wayne County Airports. Following the removal of existing USTs, new USTs were installed to meet the current MDEQ standards.
